More than Black and White: Race in Everyday Life – Andrew Dewdney & Debbie Michels (3-25 Mar 1988)

More than Black and White

Juxtaposing personal histories and family snapshots with media images, this exhibition challenges stereotypical understandings of Aboriginal, Greek and Chinese culture in contemporary Australia. Produced by members of youth organisations and students from Tranby Aboriginal College in Sydney, the exhibition provides a historical perspective on the colonisation of Australia. The book,  More than Black and White, was priced at £4.50 and published by Inner City Education Centre.

41 panels (70 x 5Ocms)

Andrew Dewdney wrote about the project in 1988 in Ten.8, Issue 30, pps 62-65
