Positive Action for Women at Work (nd)

This photographic exhibition produced by Maggie Murray and Angela Phillips for the National Council for Civil Liberties presents the need for positive action. Christine Roche’s cartoons illustrate the sexual division of work, with women doing the menial low-paid jobs while men are at the top of the occupational hierarchy. There is a panel showing women performing traditionally male jobs, a panel looking at two women job-sharing in Hackney and one of the need for greater participation in childcare by fathers.

The exhibition examines positive action as a means of effectively enforcing equal opportunity in employment, education and training.

12 laminated panels.
