Boys and Masculinity
Andrew Dewdney and Colin St. Leger worked on two photography projects in tandem, ‘On Yer Bikes Boys’, and ‘Boys and the Making of Masculinity’, using the Cockpit studio, school locations and pupils’ own albums.
The Cockpit publication, ‘On Yer Bikes Boys: boys and the making of masculinity’ contains illustrations from the exhibition and studio sessions, plus two essays. On Yer Bikes Boys –BMX Bikes’ was designed as a touring exhibition and ‘Boys and Masculinity’ was used in the exhibition and publication.
The working studio sessions from Boys and Masculinity were made into a photocopied magazine.
