Brixton Festival
The Brixton Festival exhibition covers the carnival, street theatre, dance and music from the 1983 event which received little attention from the media as there was little trouble. A lively show with lively comments, the exhibition portrays people from all walks of life – as the pavement graffiti on the first panel indicates: “Brixton is alive and well and in some social worker’s notebook”. The exhibition has changed through exposure to comments and now incorporates some of the responses of both the photographers and the photographed to various images.
