Down But Not Out

Produced by a group of homeless young people during their stay in a hostel in central London, this exhibition presents an alternative image of today’s ‘young homeless’. Stories, comments and above all, large striking photographs, are used to make a fresh statement about youth homelessness directly from those who experience it. Teaching materials available.

90 panels (70 x SOcms)

The exhibition consisted of a laminated poster and a red title, 23 panels of photographs, 18 panels of text, 5 captions, 7 context panels, 36 small portraits and 1 red ILEA sign. As it was so large borrowers would often hire only part of it.

A book about the making of the exhibition was published by Trentham Books in 1994.
