Fighting Spirit
A new exhibition designed to encourage the participation of women and girls in martial arts and self-defence. Striking images by Maggie Murray, show women of all ages and abilities and a range of cultural backgrounds currently in training, while the text touches on women’s involvement historically and what martial arts and self-defence can mean for them today. The fees from this exhibition were paid to Claudia Silva at the Self Defence Project, WedG, ILEA Tape and Drama Centre. WedG shared the same building as the Cockpit Gallery.
