Helen Chadwick made two exhibitions which were shown at the Cockpit Gallery. Model Institution in 1982 and Growing Up an Artists in Schools project in 1983.

The exhibition was shown at Newcastle upon Tyne Polytechnic in January 1981
It was shown at Sheffield Polytechnic in February and March 1981
It was then shown at the Architectural Association in London 27 Apr- 9 May 1981
In April Helen contacted Alan at the Cockpit to see if he would be interested in showing it.
In May it was exhibited at Brighton Polytechnic
It was exhibited in the Cockpit Gallery in February 1982
Helen was resident as an artist in three Newcastle schools and exhibited the work at the Cockpit in 1983 after it had been shown at the Spectro Gallery in Newcastle and at the National Portrait Gallery.
