Our Way of Rockin’
An exhibition by the Dixie Rebs with Dave Hampshire. The exhibition of photographs, photomontages and text is the result of a three-year collaboration between a group of rockabillies and the Cockpit photographer in residence, Dave Hampshire. Unlike other exhibitions about subculture, it has actually been produced by the people that it is about.
“Our Way of Rockin'” shows the people ‘behind’ the style — it shows the relationship between their style and the rest of their lives; how they live their style as part of a more general working-class culture.
